Kids will discover stop- motion animation using top of the line tools in Santa Cruz's most creative studio environment. Working in small cooperative groups, kids will create storyboards, sets, and shoot a small stop motion movie. Kids will use a wide variety of props and materials to convey their concept, allowing them to engage in traditional art making techniques alongside filming their animations. Using the schools 10 tablet computers, each group will work concurrently to develop and film their creation. The camp is suitable for kids 5 and older. Digital art and photography is an introduction to the digital realm for kids 8 and older. Utilizing the school's digital arts center, kids will learn fundamentals of digital photography and incorporate their original photographs into artwork made on tablet PCs and digital drawing tablets. A unique opportunity unlike anything else available to kids. No equipment required.
