Single week enrollment is available on limited basis for some camps.
Summer camps incorporate thematic instruction with fun cooperative games at the institute or Mission Plaza Park. Camps meet 3 ½ hours Monday through Friday for one or two weeks, depending on the season. The AM block is 9AM-12:30PM and the PM block is 1PM-4:30PM. Children may attend AM, PM, or all day (9-4:30.)
Half day two week fee is $395, full day is $790. Drop in days are available during the pre summer and session six KidStudio camps for $40 half day and $80 full day.
Camps are multi-age and available to kids 4 and older. Session 1, Digital Art and Photography is available to kids 8 and older.
Our teacher to student ratio in summer camps is 9 to 1 or better. There is maximum of 18 students per session. All camps are led by Ben Hecht, M.A. Ed, a California credentialed teacher teaching children since 1990.

After Care is now available for the summer camps. After Care is 4:30-5:30 for an additional $15/daily. Pre-enrollment is not necessary, payment will be handled at camp time. Registration is complete with receipt of payment.
Single week enrollment is now available on limited basis by request.
The registration form can be filled out online, or a PDF version (with the schedule) can be viewed and filled out online, or printed and submitted by fax or mail.
Refunds are not available for seasonal camps.

Pay online using our convenient PayPal cart system. Add each camp to your cart then click view cart or add to cart to check out. A paypal account is not required to use a credit card. Phone orders and payment by check are also available.
To pay for all day enrollment online, add both the AM and PM block to your cart. The 1/2 in between sessions is free.

Projects are introduced daily, but kids may choose to create whatever they like. Expert instruction is always available. Kids may attend all week or choose single days. New for 2008! Digital art and photography is an introduction to the digital realm for kids 8 and older. Utilizing the school's digital arts center, kids will learn fundamentals of digital photography and incorporate their original photographs into artwork made on tablet PCs and digital drawing tablets. A unique opportunity unlike anything else available to kids. No equipment required. |

This new hybrid camp combines the fun hands on science projects from our EXPLORERS science class with our most popular camp, Animal Arts. Projects blend art and scientific exploration into each day. Using our extensive collection of live creatures, animal models, and scientific tools, students make discoveries working together in a fun, inquisitive way. |

Mixed Media Creations is perfect for the kid who really likes to try many new materials and processes. Kids will create 2D and 3D art using drawing materials, paint, collage, digital art, and found objects in a variety of projects that will expand their skills and approaches to art making. It will be a fun, colorful, messy camp. |

Kids will create ceramic art from 100's of sculpture models, live animals and their imaginations. Projects include masks, abstract designs, figures, animals, buildings, and many other others. Kids will learn all aspects of clay hand building. Work will be kiln-fired and glazed or painted during the school year classes or in session 6, KidStudio. |

Art Outdoors is our summer camp, emphasizing creating art from nature. Over the years, students have visited a wide range of Santa Cruz locations, including the Santa Cruz Lighthouse, Natural Bridges, Ocean View Park, Wilder Range, and UC Santa Cruz. Although painting is emphasized, kids also draw with pencils, charcoal, and pastels. Fun, cooperative games round out each day. |
